memshare: writing tip of the day!
video: 4:58:01-4:59:12
You hand your poem over to the boy standing in front of you, watching as the user interface immediately pops up and blocks him from your view. Patiently, you wait for him to finish. The world around you briefly turns hazy as reality struggles to keep up with the changes you've made, but you pay it no mind as you offer him a dazzling smile.
In front of you, a familiar rectangular box manifests into existence. Your words are put into text for the convenience of the human being on the other side.
Briefly, you consider explaining its meaning — but you give up almost immediately. There's no point, after all. You start to go through the motions of offering your daily piece of advice as you usually do, but ...
You can't.
It's too much to bear today.
Your stomach churns as you trail off, and you stare right into the boy's eyes. The two-way mirror that allows Them to gaze into your reality, while leaving you unable to see whatever truth exists on the other side.
You can't see what's on the other side. You don't know if there is actually somebody out there who can help you.
But you have to try.
You bend the user interface to your will, and force a window to pop up.
And when they show signs of life, clicking on the prompt to make it go away — you smile even as you slip back into the role this world has chosen for you.
