Is that so? I hope this is a story that's worth remembering then.
[ He holds his hand out as the daemon slithers up his arm before she's shifting to that of a white-necked raven, croaking a soft tune now from where she perches on his shoulder. ]
It's about a boy who had lived a rough life. He had nothing growing up, no faith in himself, no hopes for the future, but one day he came across a story. A story that actually saved him, and continued to for the next ten years. He cheered on, cried for, hated, and loved the protagonist. Stuck by his side in reading his story right until the very end. He read and read as if that was his only escape from a cruel miserable world.
It's kind of a depressing story in hindsight. [ To that he gives an apologetic smile. ] But, one day, before his favorite story's epilogue could come in, he was given a gift. The story, to be exact. And in the next moment... that story because his reality. Everything he had read from the very beginning, started to happen in the real world around him. A reader was soon part of his favorite story, where he got to meet his favorite characters and witness their growth alongside them. To go on an adventure to try and reach his perfect ending.
[ He pauses, seeming to think about it before he chuckles. ] Afraid that next part of the story is still in the works so I can't spoil the rest until it's done.
Do you think so? [ That he isn't too sure of. Were there people capable of relating to it? However, that question of inspiration...
He looks out, seeming to consider his words. A smile settles on his lips as his head tilts with further thought. ] Myself. It's a story I'm currently living in after all.
[ tbh monika is valid, and honestly as much as orvs suffering it's meant to be. ]
If you said that to that guy's face, he'd probably want to stab me. [ sighs. ] Back home, all sorts of stories are created and made depending on what you do. They're a part of you that's able to speak and sing of their tales.

... It's a lovely story. I think a lot of readers would relate to the protagonist's plight, you know? [Hmm...] What was your inspiration, Dokja?

[After all, escapism is not all that uncommon. However... She raises her eyebrows, briefly surprised, before she laughs.]
... Ahaha, is it? I see. Hey, Dokja... You come from the same world as Joonghyuk, right?

That's right. It's a bit complicated, but we technically are from the same world yes.

I see. He shared a little about his situation with me, so I was curious if that was the case.

We're Life and Death companions so our fates are closely intertwined. [ "shut up, kim dokja." ]

From the way you say it, it sounds like more than just a poetic title or an ideal about destiny.

Well, it's a Fable we share together, but it holds meaning to the name. [ Kinda literally. ] We've been through a lot.

[the orvs: suffering
monika: damn i wish someone was stapled to me by fate]

Sounds magical, doesn't it?

... Yes, it does sound magical. Though also a little suffocating.
